Brady Watt, James Grierson and Peter Wilson have punched their tickets to the 2022 Golf Challenge NSW Open at Concord Golf Club.
The Melbourne Sandbelt Classic winner, Watt, carded a handy three-under-par second round to finish in a tie for second alongside Grierson, defending champ Deyen Lawson, and Jordan Zunic.
The West Australian was happy with his week’s work and pleased to know he had locked away a spot in March.
“It’s nice to know I’ve definitely got a spot in Open in the next couple of months, something to look forward to.”
Grierson spent the day battling for the lead in the final group, so grabbing one of the three spots available for his home State Open was incredibly fulfilling.
“It’s very nice, I thought I might get into Concord, but it feels better to get in this way.
“There’s no better feeling than playing good golf, so it was nice to do it here.”
The veteran of the trio, Victorian Peter Wilson, saved his best for last to qualify, making a hole-in-one on his penultimate hole to finish at two-under, grabbing the final spot on offer.
“I wasn’t even thinking about qualifying to tell the truth, I had a hole in one on the 17th, and I havent had one for ages, It was good to see one go in.”
